Here in Liberty Hall, we are so excited about this year’s theme! Here at Liberty Hall, we all LOVE LEARNING and find great JOY in the process. We want your scholars to catch that spirit with us and join in the fun of stretching their intellects and meeting challenges.
We need to remember that when it comes to learning, the brain can be compared to a muscle, and just like a muscle, it has to be regularly exercised. Just as our arm or leg muscles strengthen with exercise, we can develop or grow our intellect as well – by reading and learning and feeding our imagination and curiosity. Children must never feel limited or stymied by the idea that something is too hard or too challenging. We always seek to keep their lamps of learning brilliantly lit. Our intellects are not set – they can grow and stretch over time – with exercise and perseverance and a love of learning. It is an exciting and never ending road. Join us with your scholar as we begin another year of seeking knowledge, truth, new ideas and yes, JOY!

* JOYn us as we all read and discuss the book, The Childhood Roots of Adult Happiness, by Dr. Edward Hallowell. We are having a parent discussion in November. Look for the flyer in this folder! It will help us stay focused on this year’s theme and address some interesting questions about work, play, and relationships.
* Check out our list of coffees and presentations offered in the Lower School this year. Come and learn with us. The more in attendance, the more we can all learn. We so enJOY having parents in the building.
* This year we are learning about all our US Presidents. If you have any interesting facts in mind, do not hesitate to share! By May, we will be reciting all the presidents in order by memory… want to JOYn us?
* Hope to see you often at assembly! We try to learn something new each week – from student recitations, tricky riddles, new vocabulary, character messages, French poetry, daily prayer, and much more. We would love to have you!

and in setting goals high that I taste deeper satisfactions.”
